Support the Library

Contributions
Over 50% of our funding comes from direct contributions, indirect contributions, through the Berwick Area United Way, and special events. The McBride Memorial Library is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation; therefore, donations to the library are tax deductible. We gratefully accept contributions from individuals or groups at any time. Our annual fund drive, in April, provides another opportunity for donors to contribute to the library. More ways to support the library are mentioned below.

Master Trust
Many years ago, a trust was set up to endow the library with a reliable source of income. Contributions to the Master Trust may be made at any time. Many individuals choose to remember the library with bequests as part of their will. Only interest income from the trust is available to the library for general expenditures with the principal contribution being held in investments. Volunteering
The McBride Memorial Library is blessed with a dedicated group of volunteers. Committed, enthusiastic people help maintain and strengthen the high levels of service our patrons expect and deserve. Volunteers are selected for a specific job placement based on availability of the job, their qualifications and interests.

Volunteers perform vital functions such as shelving materials, assisting library patrons, and working on special projects. Sometimes we have more prospective volunteers then opportunities available. To see what volunteering opportunities are available, call the library and ask to speak with Alice.

Memorial & Honor Gift Books
Flowers fade but gift books bloom every time they're opened. An honorary contribution to the library fits any occasion - a birthday, an anniversary, a holiday or the desire to honor the memory of a special person - . Monetary gifts may be given for the purchase of books, other collection materials, or equipment in memory or honor of an individual. Each item is inscribed with the name of the recipient and the contributor. A card of acknowledgement is also sent to the individual or family.

The online form shown below may be used to initiate a memorial or honorary contribution. Please include the information exactly as you would like it to appear on the memorial/honorary item and the notification that will be sent to the recipient or family.

Please send a check or money order made payable to the McBride Memorial Library or visit the library with a cash payment if you prefer. We also accept secure online credit card payments.
